The radius of planet A is half the radius of planet B .If the mass of planet A is Ma ,what must be the mass of planet B.So that the value of (g) on B is half of its value A

SOLUTION :-

Data : rA=rB/2

gB=GM/R2

therefore

gA = GMa/rA2

and

gB= GM/rB2

therefore

gB = mB rA 2

gA. mA. rB

mB/ma =4/2

=2

therefore

mB = 2mA
