The curved surface area will remain same. So, there is no change in the curved surface area of cylinder . Hence the curved surface area will remain same.

Let radius=r

height=h

therefore,

CSA= 2πrh

Now after making some changes

Let r/2 and 2h be the radius and height respectively

CSA= 2πrh

=2π(r/2)(2h)

= 2πrh

The surface area of the cylinder the same as the previous one.
