The rain falls 10cm on a particular day. The rain water that fals on a roof 70m long and 44m wide was collected in a cylindrical tank of radius 14m, find:- (a) Volume of the that falls on the roof. (b)Rise of water level in the tank due to rain water

a) l=70; b= 44m and h= 10 cm = 0.1 m

So, volume of water on roof = lbh =

70×44×0.1=308m3  (As, the rainwater will form

a cuboidal shaped solid on the roof)

(b) Let h be the height of the water in the tank.

Volume of the water in

tank=πr2h=227×142h=616h

As, the water is falling to the tank from the roof,

So 308= 616h

h= 308/616=0.5 m

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Suppose rain fell as hieght

H=10CM or 10/100M

Dimensions of roof=70*44

Volume=700*44*.1

=308M³

Volume of cube=Volume of cylinder

308=πr²h

308=22/7*14²*h

22*14*h=308

h=308/308

h=1
