 \frac{22 \times 1 \times 1 \times 3.5}{22 \times 20 \times 7} = 2.5 \: cm

Answer:

To get the measurement of rainfall on the roof, we first find the volume of water collected on the roof only through rain and then divide it by the exposed area of the rood from where it can collect the rainwater.

here the water is being collected in a cylindrical vessel coming from the rectangular roof, so

the volume of water = (22/7)* (1)^2*3.5 = 11 cubic meter

now we find the exposed area of the roof= 22*20 = 440 square meter

so the rainfall = 11/440 = 0.025 meter

since we want the rainfall in cm. so

0.025 m = 0.025*100 = 2.5 cm.
