vol.of rainfall on surface = vol. of water in cylinder

lbh = πr^2h

22*20*h =22/7*1*1*3.5

h = 22*0.5/22*20

h= 0.5/20

h= 0.025m = 2.5cm

Answer:

The height  is 2.49 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The rain water from the roof of 22m x 20m drains into a cylindrical vessel having diameter of base 2m and height 3.5m.

To find : if the vessel is just full, find the rainfall in cm?

Solution :

According to question,

Volume of surface V=l\times b \times h

Where, l=22 m, b=20 m, h=?

Volume of the cylinder v=\pi r^2 H

Where,d=2 m, r=1 m, H=3.5 m

Volume of rainfall on surface = Volume of water in cylinder

lbh = \pi r^2H

h(22)(20) = (3.14) (1)^2 (3.5)

440h = 10.99

h = \frac{10.99}{440}

h = 0.0249 m

1 m=100 cm

0.0249=0.0249 × 100= 2.49 cm.

The height  is 2.49 cm.
