The rate for the reaction
RCI + NaOH(aq) - ROH + NaCl is given by rate = K[RCI). The rate of reaction is
(1) Doubled on doubling the concentration of NaOH
(2) Halved on reducing the concentration of RCI to half
(3) Decreased on increasing the temperature of the reaction
(4) Unaffected by increasing the temperature of the reaction

Rate = K[RCI) ------------------------ 1

when concentration of Cl is reduced to half = R/2

Rate' = K[R/2CI) ------------------------ 2

Dividing equation 1 and 2,

Rate/Rate' = K[RCI)/K[R/2CI)

Rate/Rate' = 2

Rate' = Rate/2

Option (2) is correct.
