Since the intermolecular distance is more in liquids than the solids, more space is available for diffusion in liquids as compared to solids.

Hence rate of diffusion of liquid is higher than solids.

this is because in solids the inter molecular attractions are so strong than that of compared to liquids

so liquids have more inter molecular space and less attraction

so liquids diffuse more fast than solids
