let the rate of sugar was 100 Rs/Kg
on selling 100 Kg of sugar, we get = 100 × 100 = 10000 Rs

now, rate of sugar was increased by 25%
then, rate of sugar = 100 +  25 = 125 Rs/Kg
and sale decreased by 15 % ,
then weight of sugar was sold = 100 - 15 = 85 Kg
  now, we get = 125 × 85 = 10625 Rs

here, you can see that, increment of Rs = 625
so, % increment = increment/intial amount × 100
                          = 625/10000 × 100 = 6.25 %

2nd method :-
      increment (x ) = + 25%
      decrement ( y) = - 15%
 now, % change = x + y + xy/100
                         = 25 - 15 + 25×-15/100
                         = 10 - 3.75 = 6.25 % ,
here percentage is positive so, there will be profit 6.25%

Step-by-step explanation:

increment (x) = 25 percent

decrement (y) = -15 percent

Now, percent change = x+y+xy/100

=25-15+25x-15/100

=10-3.75=6.25 profit
