Answer:

32m

Step-by-step explanation:

Area = 3840 m^2

Length = 10x

Breadth = 6x

Value of length and breadth = 10x x 6x = 60x^2

= 60x^2 = 3840

= x^2 = 3840/60 = 64

= x^2 = 64

= x = 8

Length = 10 x 8 = 80m

Breadth = 6 x 8 = 48m

Difference = 80 - 48

                  = 32m

Correct Question :

›»› The ratio between length and breadth of a rectangular field is 10 : 6. The area of the rectangular field is 3840m². Find the difference between the length and width of the rectangular field.

Answer :

›»› The difference between the length and width of the rectangular field are 32 m.

Given :

  • The ratio between length and breadth of a rectangular field is 10 : 6. The area of the rectangular field is 3840m².

To Find :

  • The difference between the length and width of the rectangular field.

Solution :

Let us assume that, the length of a rectangle is 10x m and the breadth of a rectangle is 6x m respectively.

As we know that

→ Area of rectangle = length * breadth

→ 3840 = 10x * 6x

→ 3840 = 60x²

→ x² = 3840/60

→ x² = 384/6

→ x² = 64

→ x = √64

x = 8

Therefore,

→ Length of a rectangle = 10x

→ Length of a rectangle = 10 * 8

→ Length of a rectangle = 80 m

→ Breadth of a rectangle = 6x

→ Breadth of a rectangle = 6 * 8

→ Breadth of a rectangle = 48 m

Now,

The difference between the length and width of the rectangular field :

→ Length - Breadth

→ 80 - 48

32

Hence, the difference between the length and width of the rectangular field are 32 m.
