let fathers age be x, son's age be y. (before 5 years)
according to the ques=> x:y=7:1
x=7y...........1
after 10 years
(x+10)-(y+10)=30
7y+10-y-10=30
6y=30
y=5

before 5 years sons age= 5,fathers age = 35
present            sons age=10  fathers age=40 =>sum=50
