Let, daughter's age =d
Mother's age=m

Mother was 26 when she gave birth to her son

Daughter is 6 years elder to son

So, mother is 20 years older to daughter

Hence, m=20+d

Also,7d=3m
Hence, m=(7/3)d

Substituting in first equation we get,
(7/3)d=20+d
(4/3)d= 20
Hence, d=15
And, mother's age=35

Answer:

Mother's present age = 35

Step-by-step explanation:

let's daughter's age be assumed as "d" and mom's age as "m". it's clear that mom gave birth to son when she was 26 years old .

Daughter is 6 years elder than son . So , mom is 20 years older than daughter .

m = 20+d

7d = 3m

m= 7/3 d

7/3 d = 20+d

4/3d = 20

d = 15

therefore , mom's age = 35
