hey mate :
given here
The ratio between the ages of x and y today is 20:1,
x:y= 20:1
or,
x/y= 20/1
=>x-20y=0. ...(1)
and ,
six years later, the ratio of their ages will be 5:1.
so,
x+6 : y+6= 5:1
or,
(x+6)/(y+6) = 5/1
=>x+6 = 5(y+6)
=>x+6 = 5y+30
=>x-5y= 24. ....(2)
now ,
equation (1) - (2)
we get,
-15y = -24
y= 24/15
and
by (1),
x= 20×24/15
= 4×24/3
= 4×8
=32
so,
age of x in present will be
32 years
I hopes its helps u
follow me guess !!✌✌
