given that,

= curved surface area of cylinder/ total surface area of cylinder

1/3 =2πrh / 2πr( r+ h)

2πr gets canceled in numerator & denominator

1/3= h/(r+h)

now do cross multiplication

3h= r+h

3h-h=r

2h = r

h/r=1/2
