The ratio between the length and the breadth of a rectangle is 5 : 1. If the area of the rectangle is 180 sq. cm, what is the breadth of the rectangle?

Now Area of rectangle = l × b

180 sq. cm = 5x × 1x

180 sq.cm = 5x

x = 180/5 = 36 cm

Hence length = 5 × 36 = 180 cm

and breadth = 1 cm
