let the length and breadth of the rectangle be 3x and 2x respectively.

According to question;

new length will be (3x+5) m and breadth is same i.e. 2x m

Area = 2600 m² (given)

=> L * B = 2600

=> (3x+5) * 2x = 2600

=> 6x² + 10x = 2600

=> 6x² + 10x - 2600=0

=> 2(3x² + 5x - 1300) =0

=> 3x² + 5x - 1300 =0

=> 3x(x-20)+65(x-20)=0

=> (x-20)(3x+65) = 0

=> x-20= 0. and => 3x+65 =0

=> x= 20 m. and => x = -65/3 m.

only positive will be taken because length can't be negative that's why

only 20 will be taken as the value .

Length = 3x

=> 2* 20= 60 m. Ans

and

Breadth = 2x

=> 2*20 = 40 m. Ans
