Answer:

the ratio of the ages after 5 years will be 4 : 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number be x.

As per the statement:

The ratio between the present ages of P and Q is 3:4 respectively.

⇒Present age of P = 3x and presents  age of Q = 4x

It is also given that: the Q's present age is 20 years.

⇒4x = 20

Divide both by 4 sides we get;

x= 5

Then;

Present age of P = 3x = 3(5) = 15 years.

To find the ratio of the ages after 5 years.

Age of P after 5 years = 15 + 5 = 20 years

Age of Q after 5 years = 20 + 5 = 25 years.

Ratios of P and Q after 5 years is:  20 : 25 = 4 :5

therefore, the ratio of the ages after 5 years will be 4 : 5
