Answer: Q = 4x=20

P = 3x

So

4x =20

x = 20/4

x = 5

So

Present age of P = 3x = 3×5=15

Present age of Q = 4x = 4×5=20

Ages after 5 years = present age+5

Age of Q after 5 years = 20+5=25

Age of P after 5 years = 15+5=20

Thats' all your answer.

Given :

  • The ratio between the present ages of P and Q is 3:4 respectively.
  • Present age of Q = 20 years.

To find :

  • Ratio of their ages after 5 years.

Solution :

Let the present age of P be x years.

According to the question:-

  • The ratio between the present ages of P and Q is 3:4.

\implies\sf{x:20=3:4}

\implies\sf{\dfrac{x}{20}=\dfrac{3}{4}}

\implies\sf{4x=60}

\implies\sf{x=15}

  • Present age of P = 15 years.

After 5 years,

  • Age of P = (15+5) = 20 years
  • Age of Q = (20+5) = 25 years

Ratio of their ages after 5 years,

\implies\sf{20:25}

\implies\sf{4:5}

Therefore, the ratio of their ages after 5 years will be 4:5.
