Answer:

4:5 ratio

Explanation:

Let the present age of Q be 4x. So, we have to first find the value of x. So,

4x = 20

or x = 20/4

or x = 5.

So, if x = 5 years. Then the age of the present age of P will be

3 multiplied by 5 = 15

So Q's present age is 20 years and P's present age is 15 years.

After 5 years, 15+5 : 20+5 or 20 : 25 = 4 : 5

Let the present age of P be x years.

As per question :-

Given that,

The ratio between the present ages of P and Q is 3:4

Therefore,

x : 20 = 3 : 4

⟹ 4x = 60

⟹ x = 15

Hence,

present age of P is = 15 years.

Again,

after 5 years,

Age of P = ( 15+ x ) = 20 years

Age of Q = ( 20 + x ) = 25 years

Now, find the ratio of their ages after 5 years.

Ratio :-

20 : 25

⟹ 4 : 5

Hence, the ratio of their ages after 5 years will be 4:5.

Verification :-

Given that,

The ratio between the present ages of P and Q is 3:4

Ratio :-

15 : 20 = 3 : 4

⟹ 3 : 4 = 3 : 4

L.H.S = R.H. S

Hence, verified.
