The ratio between the present ages of p and q is 6:7. if q is 4 years old than p, what will be theratio of the ages of p and q after 4 years

Let us assume that the  age of p is = 6x

                              and   age of q is = 7x

So if we take ratio of there age it will come out to be = p:q

                                                                               = 6x/7x⇒ 6:7

Now it is given that ; 1) q is 4 year older than p ∴ difference of their age will be 4

∴ 7x - 6x = 4

x = 4 a) age of q = 7*4 = 28

             b) age of p = 6*4 = 24

Now after 4 years their respective age will be ⇒ age of q =32

                                                                                    age of p = 28

taking ratio = 28:32 ⇒ 7:8

answer = 7:8 .
