given ratio= raman:suman = 3:8
suman's current age= 50-2 = 48years
therefore, raman's current age
= 18years
 \frac{3}{8} = \frac{3 \times x}{8 \times x} = \frac{y}{48} \\ \frac{3}{8} = \frac{3 \times 6}{8 \times 6} = \frac{18}{48}

therefore, raman's age 5 years ago= 18-5 = 13years.

Given,

The ratio between present ages of Raman and Suman = 3:8

The age of Suman after two years = 50

To Find,

Raman's age 5 years ago.

Solution,

Age of suman after two years = 50

Thus, the present age of suman =50-2 = 48

\frac{3}{8} =\frac{x}{48}

On cross multiplication,

x= \frac{(3)(48)}{8} = 18

Thus the current age of Raman is 18 years.

The age of Raman 5 years ago = 18-5 = 13

Henceforth, the age of Raman 5 years ago is 13.
