given : volume of cylinder =1617 cm³

=> πr²h = 1617cm³ (taking π as 22/7)

=> 22/7 x (2x)² x 3x = 1617cm²

22/7 x 12x³ = 1617

12x³ = 1617 x 7/22

x³ = 343 / 8

x = ³√343 /8

x = 7/2

substitute x value in r (2x) and h (3x)

r =7

h = 21/2

total surface area = 2πr ( h + r )

= 2 x 22 / 7 x 7 ( 21 /2 +7 )

= 770 cm²
