NOTE :

AREA = a^2

PERIMETER = 4a

Let the sides of two squares be 2x and 5x

1st square

Perimeter = 4a

= 4 ( 2x )

= 8x

Area = a^2

= ( 2x) ^2

= 4x^2

2nd square

Perimeter = 4 ( 5x )

= 20x

Area = ( 5x ) ^2

= 25x^2

Ratio

Perimeter = 8x : 20x = 8:20 = 2 : 5

Area = 4x^2 : 25x^2 = 4 : 25
