Given,

The ratio of two numbers is $12:13$. If each number is reduced by $20$, the ratio become $2:3$.

Let, the two numbers be $12x$ and $13x$

Each number is reduced by $20$ the numbers are $12x-20$ and $13x-20$, the ratio become $2:3$

Now,

$\frac{12x-20}{13x-20}=\frac{2}{3}$

$3(12x-20)=2(13x-20)\\36x-60=26x-40$

Take $x$ terms in LHS side and constant terms are RHS side

We get

$36x-26x=60-40\\10x=20\\x=2$

Substitute $x=2$ in the two numbers

$12x=12\times2\\24$

$13x=13\imes2\\=26$

Therefore, the two numbers are $24$ and $26$.
