Given,

The ratio of two numbers is 12:13. If each number is reduced by 20, the ratio become 2:3.

Let, the two numbers be 12x and 13x

Each number is reduced by 20 the numbers are 12x-20 and 13x-20, the ratio become 2:3

Now,

\frac{12x-20}{13x-20}=\frac{2}{3}

3(12x-20)=2(13x-20)\\36x-60=26x-40

Take x terms in LHS side and constant terms are RHS side

We get

36x-26x=60-40\\10x=20\\x=2

Substitute x=2 in the two numbers

12x=12\times2\\24

13x=13\imes2\\=26

Therefore, the two numbers are 24 and 26.
