Since we are given 1 value in cm and 1 in m, we'll convert metres into centimetres :

We know that 1 m = 100 cm

So, 2 m = 2 × 100 cm

i.e. 2 m = 200 cm

Now,

35cm : 200cm

= 5(7) : 5(40)

= 7 : 40

7cm : 40cm

Hope it helps ;)

To find the required ratio, both values need to be in same unit and in this case, we convert 2 metres into centimetres

We know that, 1 m = 100 cm

∴ 2 m = 2 * 100 cm = 200 cm

Now, the ratio of 35 cm to 2 m be

= 35 : 200

= \frac{35}{200}

= \frac{\cancel{5}*7}{\cancel{5}*40}

= \frac{7}{40}

= 7 : 40
