Answer:

FATHERS AGE =45

SONS AGE =15

Step-by-step explanation:

LETS TAKE X

SO THE RATIO GIVEN OF THE FATHERS AGE TO THE SONS AGE IS 3:1

AND THEIR SUM IS 60

SO FIRST ALL U HAVE TO DO IS MAKE AN EQUATION...IF THE EQUATION IS WRONG THEN THE SUM WILL BE WRONG SO.. THE EQUATION IS THE MAIN THING

SO

NOW ,

3x+1x=60

4x=60

x= 60/4

x= 15

Therefore ,

FATHERS AGE = 3x = 3(15) = 45

SONS AGE = 1x = 1(15) = 15

HOPE IT HELPS...IF IT HELPED DO MARKS AS BRAINLIEST

Answer:

let father's age =x

his son's age=y

then,x/y =3/1

=> x=3y. __(i)

and x+y= 60

=> 3y+y=60. (using (i)

=>4y=60

=> y= 15

and, x= 3×15=45

so, father's age=x=45 years

son's age=y=15years
