Answer :

  • The ratio of their ages after 5 years is 8:7

Given :

  • The ratio of A's age and B's age is 7 : 6
  • The sum of their ages is 65 years

To find :

  • What will be ratio of their ages after 5 years?

Solution :

Ratio of A's age and B's age is 7 : 6

  • Let the ratio of A's age be 7x
  • Let the ratio of B's age be 6x

Given, The sum of their ages is 65 years so,

》7x + 6x = 65

》13x = 65

》x = 65/13

》x = 5

Now

  • Age of A's = 7x = 7(5) = 35 years
  • Age of B's = 6x = 6(5) = 30 years

Now, we have to find the ratio of their ages after 5 years will be :

  • Age of A's = 35 + 5 = 40
  • Age of B's = 30 + 5 = 35

The ratio of their ages after 5 years = 40/35 = 8/7

Hence , The ratio of their ages after 5 years is 8 : 7
