The ratio of A's share to that of B is 3:4. B gets 2/5 of C's
share. If 425 Rupees are divided among them, then A will
get:
(a) Rs. 100
(c) Rs.75
(b) Rs. 250
(d) Rs. 125

Answer:

A will Get Rs 75

A: B = 3:4 ----[1]

B gets 2/5th of C

So B= 2/5 C

5B = 2C

B/ C = 2/5

B:C = 2:5 -----[2]

A:B: C: :: 3:4:10 ( We have B common In both the Ratios But Of with Different values , if we make Those values Equal We can directly Write the Ratios of A:B:C)

Take Lcm of 2 , 4. That will be 4.

To make The value of 4 in [2] equation Multiply it with 2.

so we get 3:4:10

Rs 425 is shared in the ratio of 3:4:10

425/17 =25

A = 75

B = 100

C = 250

Answer:

Option C) is correct. A will get 75 Rupees.

Tip:

  • The relation between two numbers which shows how much bigger one quantity is than another.

Step

Step 1 of 2:

Given that:

A:B=3:4           (1)

B gets \frac{2}{5} of C's share.

So,

B=\frac{2}{5}C\\\\5B=2C

B:C=2:5          (2)

From equation (1) and (2), we get,

For making 4 in equation (2), so that it will match to the ratio of A and B we have to multiply it by 2. We get,

A:B:C::3:4:10

So, 425 Rupees is shared among three of them, so,

\frac{425}{A+B+C}=\frac{425}{17}\\\\~~~~~~~~~~~=25

Step 2 of 2:

We know that each will get a share of 25 Rupees.

So, A will get,

A=3\times 25\\~~~=75
