Answer:

x :y = 1:2

==> x/y = 1/2

==> 3x - y = 0__________(1/

Case 2

==> (x + 7):(y+7) = 3:5

==> (x+7)/(y+7) = 3:5

==> 5×(x+7) = 3×(y+7)

==> 5x - 3y = 21 - 35

==> 5x - 4y = -14 _____________(2)

multiply by 4 in equ(2)

==> 12x - 4y = 0_____________(3)

Sub equ(2) & equ(3)

==> 5x - 12x = -14

==> -7x = -14

==> x = 14/7

==> x = 2

Keep Value of x in equ(3)

==> 12×2 - 4y = 0

==> 4y = 24

==> y = 24/4

==> y = 6

Let,

Present age of jayasimha = x years

Present age of Bhaskar = y years

Case 1

• xy = 1:2

=> x/y = 1/2

=> 3x - y = 0---------(1)

Case 2

=> (x + 7):(y+7) = 3:5

=> (x+7)/(y+7) = 3:5

=> 5×(x+7) = 3×(y+7)

=> 5x - 3y = 21-35

=> 5x - 4y = -14--------(2)

multiply by 4 in equ(2)

=> 12x - 4y = 0-------(3)

Sub equ(2) & equ(3)

=> 5x - 12x = -14

=> -7x = -14

=> x = 14/7

=> x = 2

Keep Value of x in equ(3)

=> 12 \times {2}  - 4y = 0

=> 4y = 24

=> y=24/4

=> y=6

Since

  • Present age of Jayasima is 2 years
  • Present age of Bhaskar is 6 years
