Given: ratio of ages of M and N is 14 : 5,

           product of their ages is 304

To find:  ratio of their ages after 4 years

Solution:

  • So, we have given the ratio of their ages, so to calculate,
  • Let the common ratio be x
  • So ages will be 14x and 5x,
  • Product of their ages is 304
  • So,

              (14x) x (5x) = 304

              70x² = 304

              x² = 304/70

              x² = 152/35

              x = √152/35

Answer:

          Since x is not a whole number, it is not possible .
