Let the common factor be x
Present ages
Ram = 6x years
Shyam = 7x years
Ages after 4 years,
Ram = 8x years
Shyam = 9x years
According to the question,
6x + 4 = 8x
4 = 8x - 6x
4 = 2x
x = 4/2
x = 2
Present ages
Ram = 12 years
Shyam = 14 years
Difference of ages = 14 - 12 = 2 years
Present ages
Ram = 6x years
Shyam = 7x years
Ages after 4 years,
Ram = 8x years
Shyam = 9x years
According to the question,
6x + 4 = 8x
4 = 8x - 6x
4 = 2x
x = 4/2
x = 2
Present ages
Ram = 12 years
Shyam = 14 years
Difference of ages = 14 - 12 = 2 years
