hello friend!!

here's ur answer...

let the ages of 2 persons be 4x and 7x.

if one of the person is 30yrs older than other then:-

7x-4x=30

3x=30

x=30/3

x=10

hence, age of 1st person=4x

=4×10

=40yrs

age of 2nd person=7x

=7×10

=70yrs

Given:

The ratio of the ages of two persons is 4:7 and one is 30 years older than the other.

To Find:

The sum of their ages is?

Solution:

The given problem can be solved using simple algebra.

1. The ratio of the ages of two persons is 4:7.

2. Let the ages of the two persons be 4x and 7x respectively.

3. One of them is 30 years older than the other, the algebraic equation will be,

=> 7x = 4x + 30,

=> 7x - 4x = 30,

=> 3x = 30,

=> x = 30/3,

=> x = 10.

4. The ages of the two persons are 4x ( 4*10) and 7x (7*10),

=> The ages of the two persons are 40 and 70.

=> The sum of their ages is 40 + 70 = 110.

Therefore, the sum of the ages of two people is 110.
