ANSWER = 7 : 18

CONSIDER SOLUTION A ,

  • ratio of water to alcohol = 3 : 7

  • quantity of litres present = 5 L

  • 3x + 7x = 5

  • 10x = 5

  • x= 1/2

quantity of alcohol in A = 3 × 1/2 = 1.5 L

quantity of water in A = 7 × 1/2 = 3.5 L

\rule{10cm}{0.05cm}

CONSIDER VESSEL B

  • Ratio of Alcohol to water = 4 : 11

  • quantity of solution present = 7.5 L

  • 4x + 11x = 7.5

  • 15x = 7.5

  • x = 7.5 / 15

  • x = 1/2

quantity of alcohol = 4 × 1/2 = 2L

quantity of water = 11 × 1/2 = 5.5 L

\rule{10cm}{0.05cm}

NOW CONSIDER VESSEL C

Quantity of alcohol = 1.5 + 2 = 3.5 L

Quantity of water = 3.5 + 5.5 = 9 L

Ratio = 3.5 : 9

= 7 : 18

Don't Forget To Make me as BrainLeast

Step-by-step explanation:

ANSWER = 7 : 18

CONSIDER SOLUTION A ,

ratio of water to alcohol = 3 : 7

quantity of litres present = 5 L

3x + 7x = 5

10x = 5

x= 1/2

quantity of alcohol in A = 3 × 1/2 = 1.5 L

quantity of water in A = 7 × 1/2 = 3.5 L

\rule{10cm}{0.05cm}

CONSIDER VESSEL B

Ratio of Alcohol to water = 4 : 11

quantity of solution present = 7.5 L

4x + 11x = 7.5

15x = 7.5

x = 7.5 / 15

x = 1/2

quantity of alcohol = 4 × 1/2 = 2L

quantity of water = 11 × 1/2 = 5.5 L

\rule{10cm}{0.05cm}

NOW CONSIDER VESSEL C

Quantity of alcohol = 1.5 + 2 = 3.5 L

Quantity of water = 3.5 + 5.5 = 9 L

Ratio = 3.5 : 9

= 7 : 18
