Step-by-step explanation:

The ratio in vessel one is 3:7

so 3+7=10

alcohol(in litres)=3/10×5=3/2

water(in litres)=7/10×5=7/2

SolutionA(in litres)=3/2+7/2=10/2=5litres

The ratio in vessel two is 4:11

so 4+11=15

alcohol(in litres)=4/15×71=18.93

water(in litres)=11/15×71=52.06

SolutionB(in litres)=18.93+52.06=70.99

SolutionC(in litres)=SolutionA + SolutionB

=5+70.99

=75.99litres

Given : The ratio of alcohol and water in vessels A and B are 3:7 and 4:11, respectively.

5  litres and 7  litres  solutions from vessels A and B. respectively are mixed in vessel C.

To Find : Ratio of water and alcohol in the solution in C?

Solution:

The ratio of alcohol and water in vessels A  = 3 : 7

Solution Taken = 5 litre

=> Alcohol = ( 3/10) * 5  = 1.5 litre

Water = 5 - 1.5 = 3.5 litre

The ratio of alcohol and water in vessels B  = 4  : 11

Solution Taken = 7 litre

=> Alcohol = ( 4/15) *71   =284/15 litre

Water =  ( 11/15) *71   = 781/15 litre

Total water     = 3.5  + 781/15    =  7/2 +  781/15

= ( 105 + 1562) /30

= ( 1667)/30

Total alcohol =  1.5  +  284/15  = 3/2  + 284/15

= ( 613) / 30

ratio of water and alcohol in the solution in C

( 1667)/30  :  (  613) / 30

= 1667  : 613

ratio of water and alcohol in the solution in C =  1667  : 613
