The 1st person initially had Rs. 1000.

Step-by-step explanation:

The ratio of amount with three persons is 2:4:5.

That is the total amount is, T = 2x + 4x + 5x.

On increasing every persons amount by Rs. 500 the new ratio is, 3:5:6.

That is:

(2x + 500) + (4x + 500) + (5x + 500) = 3x + 5x + 6x

11x + 1500 = 14x

11x - 14x = -1500

-3x = -1500

x = 500

Compute the value with 1st person initially as follows:

1st person = 2x

                 = 2 × 500

                 = 1000

Thus, the 1st person initially had Rs. 1000.
