Area of a circle = πr²

Area of a semicircle = 1/2πr²

Find the ratio of the area of a circle : area of a semicircle:

area of circle : area of semicircle = πr² : 1/2 πr²

Multiply by 2:

area of circle : area of semicircle = 2πr² :  πr²

Divide by πr²:

area of circle : area of semicircle = 2 : 1

Answer: The ratio is 2 : 1

Proportion is 2:1 circle is twofold of semi circle.

Taking the normal range of the circles to be √5, draw the circles focused in a hub of a unit square lattice as appeared.

On the left the square has region of 4.

The proportion of the two regions is in this manner 4/10 = 2/5, as required.
