Let the no. be x

1800 = 5x:3x

1800 = 8x

x = 1800/8

x= 225

5x = 5×225

=1125

3x = 3×225

= 675

Answer:

The length of base and height of a parallelogram are 54.75 cm and

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • The ratio of base and height of parallelogram is 5:3.
  • Area of a parallelogram = 1800 cm²

To find:

  • The length of a parallelogram.
  • The height of a parallelogram.

Solution:

Let the base and height of a parallelogram are 5x and 3x respectively.

( As the ratio of base and height of parallelogram is 5:3 )

Now, by using formula of area of parallelogram, we will find the value of x. Putting the values in the formula and then doing required calculations. After that we will substitute the value of x in the base and height of a parallelogram respectively to find them.

Let's find out...

✰ Area of a parallelogram = base × height

  • 1800 = 5x × 3x
  • 1800 = 15x²
  • x² = 1800/15
  • x² = 120
  • x = √120
  • x = 10.95 cm

Now, find out the base and height of a parallelogram respectively.

  • Base of a parallelogram = 5x
  • Base of a parallelogram = 5 × 10.95
  • Base of a parallelogram = 54.75 cm

  • Height of a parallelogram = 3x
  • Height of a parallelogram = 3 × 10.95
  • Height of a parallelogram = 32.85 cm
