Let the number of boys in the class be 5x

And, the number of girls be 7x

According to the question,

7x = 5x + 122

→ 7x - 5x = 122

→ 2x = 122

→ x = 61

Therefore, number of boys in the class = 5 × 61 = 305. Also number of girls in the class = 305 + 122 = 427.
