Answer:

a)total no. of boys =12

total no. of girls =8

b) total students = 20

Step-by-step explanation:

total no. of boys =3x

total no. of girls = 2x

no. of boys absent =2

no. of girls absent =3

new total of students...ratio 5:3

so,

 \frac{3x - 2}{2x - 2}  =  \frac{5}{3}

cross multiply

3(3x - 2) = 5(2x - 2) \\ 9x - 6 = 10x- 10

9x - 10x =  - 10 + 6

 - x =  - 4

x = 4

  • total no. of boys =3x=3(4)=12
  • total no. of girls = 2x=2(4)=8
  • total no. of students..=12+8=20

hope it's helpful
