ANSWER:

  • Number of girls = 15

GIVEN:

  • The ratio of boys to girls in a class is 4:3.
  • Total number of students in class = 35

TO FIND:

  • Number of girls in that class.

SOLUTION:

  • Let the ratio of boys to girl be 4x and 3x
  • Number of boys = 4x
  • Number of girl = 3x

Total number of students = 35

=> 4x + 3x = 35

=> 7x = 35

=> x = 35/7

=> x = 5

Number of girls = 3x

= 3*5

= 15

Number of boys = 4x

=> 4*5

= 20

  • Number of girls = 15
  • Number of boys = 20

Answer:

Answer:

Ratios of boys and girls in the class is 4:3

Total no of students in the class is 35

we can write that no of boys and girls are 4x and 3x respectively because some common factor is deducted

ATQ;

4x +3x=35

=7× = 35

= x = 5

4x= 4×5=20 boys

3x=3×5=15 girls
