The ratio of boys to girls in a class is 5:7. There are 36 students in the class. How many more girls than boys are there?

Let the no of boys be 5x

and no of girls be 7x

5x + 7x = 36

=> 12x = 36

=> x = 36/12 = 3

No. of boys = 5x

= 5 × 3

= 15

No. of girls = 7x

= 7 × 3

= 21

Here,

No. of girls > No. of boys

21 - 15 = 6

Hence, There are 6 more girls than boys .
