Boys:Girls=5:6
 \frac{boy}{girls}  =  \frac{5}{6}
but girls = 312
Hence
b/312=5/6
option b is the answer

Use fractions with the number of boys on top and the number of girls on the bottom (\frac{5}{6}). Use ‘b’ to represent the number of boys (\frac{b}{312})  . Set the two fractions equal to create the proportion.

\frac{5}{6}=\frac{b}{312}
