\Large{\textbf{\underline{\underline{According\:to\:the\:Question}}}}

Assumption

Number of girls be a

Number of boys be b

The ratio of boys to girls = 1 : 2

\tt{\rightarrow\dfrac{b}{a}=\dfrac{1}{2}}

a = 2b

Two boys and two girls were the room = 5 : 9

No. of girls

= a + 2

No. of boys

= b + 2

Situation,

\tt{\rightarrow\dfrac{b+2}{a+2}=\dfrac{5}{9}}

9(b + 2) = 5(a + 2)

9b + 18 = 5a + 10

9b + 18 = 10b + 10

10b - 9b = 18 - 10

b = 8

Put value of b in (a)

a = 2(8)

a = 16

Hence,

Number of girls = 16

Number of Boys = 8
