The ratio of carbon and oxygen in a sample of carbon dioxide is 3:8. What is the mass of carbon in a sample of 4g of carbon dioxide?

Solution :

Mass of the carbon in the sample = [ 3 / ( 3 + 8 )] * 4 g

=> mass of the carbon in the sample = 12 / 11 g = 1.09 g (approx.)

The mass of the carbon in the sample is 1.09 g approximately .
