the ratio of circumference to the diameter of a circle c/d is represented by pi but we say pi is a irrational number ...why​

Yes it is true that the value of pi (π) = Circumference (c) / Diameter (d)

The value of pi was found to be 22/7 and when we solve the equation the number come out to be 3.14159... . Since this is a non-terminating and non-recurring number, it is said that pi is an irrational number.
