let age of david =3x
age of austin is =5x

sum of their ages is 80 ..so 3x+5x=8x

8x=80
x=80÷8=>10
so age of david =10×3=30
age of austin=5×10=50...
after 10 years =david age is 40
austin age =60..ratio=40÷60=2:3

so ratio of their ages after 10 years is 2:3.

let their ages be 3y and 5y.
Then according to question,
3y + 5y=80
8y=80
y=10
therefore their ages after 10 years will be 10 * 3+10=40 & 10 * 5+10=60 years resp.

ABHIRAM4636: they given to find ratio after 10 years
