Answer:

H=ms

H=pvs

H1/H2=p1v1s1/p2v2s2

H1v2/H2v1=p1s1/p2s2

=1/2×2/1

=1:1

Given :

The ratio of the density = 1 : 2

The ratio of the specific heat = 2 : 1

To find :

The ratio of the thermal capacities for unit volume .

Solution :

Thermal capacity , H = ρ * V * S

Now ,

H_1 = ρ_1 * V_1 * S_1        ....(i)

H_2 = ρ_2 * V_2 * S_2         ...(ii)

dividing (i) by (ii) ,

[ ( H_1 / V_1 ) / ( H_2 / V_2 ) = [ ( ρ_1 / ρ_2 ) * ( S_1 / S_2 ) ]

=> The ratio of the thermal capacities for unit volume  = ( 1 / 2 ) * ( 2 / 1 )

=> The ratio of the thermal capacities for unit volume  = 1 : 1

The ratio of the thermal capacities for unit volume is 1 : 1 .
