Let the length of the side of the

Square = a units

Diagonal = d = √2 a units

Ratio = d/ a

= ( √2 a ) / a

= √2 /1

= √2 : 1

We know that,

Diagonal of a Square = √2a, where a = side of Square.

So,

Diagonal = √2×7 = 7√2 cm

Now,

Ratio of diagonal to side = 7√2 : 7 = √2 : 1
