Let the mass of duralumin in any mass of the alloy = 3x

Let the mass of tin in any mass of the alloy = 2x

Therefore,

Mass of duralumin + Mass of tin = Mass of alloy

3x + 2x = 4250 grams

5x = 4250 grams

x = 850 grams

Therefore,

Mass of duralumin = 3x

= 3*(850 grams)

= 2550 grams
