The ratio of expenditure of man on food, clothes and education is 2:3:5. Next month expenditure on food increases by 25%, that on clothes in increased by 50% and that on education is increased by 75%. Find the percentage increase in the net expenditure of man.

present time, total expenditure = 2x+3x+5x = 10x

next month, total expenditure= (2X×5/4)+(3X×3/2)+(5X×7/4) = (5x/2 + 9x/2 + 35x/4) = (10x + 18x + 35x ) / 4 = 63x /4

increase = 63x /4 - 10x = 23x /4

increase % = (23X × 100) / (4 × 10x)

=> 115/2 = 57.5%
