 \huge \bf \purple{answer}

 \bf \red{given  -  total \: number \: of \: students = 144} \\ \bf \red{ - ratio \: of \: girls \: and \: boys = 4.5}

\bf \green {let \: number \: of \: boys \: be \: 5x \: }  \\ \bf \green{then \:number \: of \: girls \: be \:   \:  4x }

 \bf \blue{therefore \: 5x + 4x = 144} \:  \:  \\  \\  \bf \: ie \: number \: of \: girls + boys = total \: students

 \bf \pink{9x = 144} \\  \bf \orange{ x = 16} \\  \\  \bf  \green{4 \times 16 = 64 \: girls} \\ \bf \green{5 \times 16 = 80boys}
